See last week for pt 2: the provision of grace

This week is about the reception of grace.

What good is it to have grace, if we aren't willing to accept it?

Now that we understand why we need it, and how it was provided, then that makes reception of grace a no-brainer.

In order to receive grace, we must acknowledge what Jesus has gone through in order for us to have it. He endured the punishment we all deserve. We must repent of the sins we all have committed.

Daily repentance.

We need to be mindful of our thoughts, words and actions. Like we said in part 1, we are all guilty of something. We are all "filthy rags".

Romans 6:3-8 says " Or don’t you know that all of us who were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into his death?  We were therefore buried with him through baptism into death in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, we too may live a new life. For if we have been united with him in a death like his, we will certainly also be united with him in a resurrection like his. For we know that our old self was crucified with him so that the body ruled by sin might be done away with, that we should no longer be slaves to sin because anyone who has died has been set free from sin. Now if we died with Christ, we believe that we will also live with him."

Because we have been born again, we are new. We have died to our old selves just as Christ died for us so we will also receive the resurrection after death- just like Him.

Receiving grace is so freeing.

It is necessary.

Live out your faith before men. Confessing who is your savior and what grace has done for you is the best way to show your appreciation of His grace.

p.s. Happy Veterans Day!
