God is good

My brain has been hard to shut down lately. I feel like I have a million thoughts running in all different directions constantly. So naturally, as I was thinking about something to say today, I had a bunch of ideas. However, none of these ideas were growing. I was struggling to elaborate on them.
Then I saw the phrase “God is good.”
Wow. That’ll preach.
He’s good. All the time. No exceptions.
I could stop talking now and let you stew on that for the week.
I’m writing this blog post on my phone because my wifi is out. Also, my basement has water in it from the rain, it’s the week of midterms, and it kinda feels like every week I’m just barely getting by on finishing my “to-do” list only to start again. These things are inconveniences, but that doesn’t make my life any less good. These things don’t make God any less good.
I’m waiting for that catch in between where you can exhale and then inhale deeply before jumping back in.
Have you ever felt that way?
It’s kinda like when I used to throw all the diving rings in the swimming pool then try to get them all in one breath. Pushing to get them all, lungs burning, and that breath after they are all collected is savored. It’s needed before you throw all the rings back in. I feel like all I’m getting are those little cheat breaths at the top of the water then diving back in.
We all have these seasons. That’s what I remind myself- this is a season. It’s a busy one. It’s a blessed one. But, in every season, God is good. He is. His nature is good. His intention is good. His promises are good. His plans are good. Everything about Him, is good.
“For the Lord is good; his steadfast love endures forever, and his faithfulness to all generations.”
Psalm 100:5
“The Lord is good to those who wait for him, to the soul who seeks him.”
Lamentations 3:25
“The Lord is good, a stronghold in the day of trouble; he knows those who take refuge in him.”
Nahum 1:7
“For you, O Lord, are good and forgiving, abounding in steadfast love to all who call upon you.”
Psalm 86:5
Doesn’t that help you breathe a little better? Open your Bible. His goodness is everywhere.
He’ll never let you down. He is our stronghold. (Psalm 9:9)* He is our salvation. (Psalm 62:2-3)* He is our Creator. (Genesis 1:27)* He is seeing your whole life, and this season is just a small part of it.
So, while life may seem tough, busy, cumbersome, anxious, sad, a burden, whatever it may be, God is good. He’s living inyou. That’s some good news to start the week off with, friend.
I love you.
I’m praying for you.
Lean into Him.
Savor that deep breath.
*Psalm 9:9- “The Lord is a stronghold for the oppressed, a stronghold in times of trouble.”
*Psalm 62:1-2 -“For God alone my soul waits in silence; from him comes my salvation. He alone is my rock and my salvation, my fortress; I shall not be greatly shaken.”
*Genesis 1:27 - “So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them.”

I love your comparison of diving for the rings in the pool and that savory breathe you take when you have accomplished the task .... all to dive in and do it again!! Wow!!! Thank you my beautiful sweet friend and daughter of the most high King for your wise words of wisdom!!! GOD IS GOOD!!!!!!!
