Contentment instead of Envy

We all know how frustrating it is to pray for something and not receive it in the time we've mapped out in our minds then watch some other person get it easily.

It's easy to want what everyone else has and being envious is made even easier by social media. Sometimes it seems like we can't escape the world around us. What you want so badly, everyone else on your " Facebook" and "Instagram" feed has.

It's not fair to be upset at the people who have what you want.

God is always on time.

God knows what you need.

He loves you more than you'll ever love yourself.

He sees the beginning and the end.

His will is perfect.

Trust that God will provide.

The people who have the things you long for are just as much a gift to you as you getting those things are. The happiness in their life should be, if anything, uplifting and encouraging to you. If He did it for them, He could do it for you.

I believe that our God is so faithful and so loving and merciful, that if what you want is not what He has planned, that desire will not be something you have to live with forever. He will find a way to fill that void if you'd allow Him.

" Not that I am speaking of being in need, for I have learned in whatever situation I am to be content. " - Philippians 4:11

Choosing to be content and praise during that silence is so important. Look around you and take in all God has provided thus far. Rejoice with those people who have your once coveted item, whatever it may be - relationship, degree, new car, baby, etc. Reach out and tell them how happy you are for them, and eventually you will notice how genuine that statement becomes.

Contentment in all circumstances brings joy beyond understanding.
