"We have this hope as an anchor for our lives, safe and secure." - Hebrews 6:19
Anchors are supposed to hold the vessel they are attached to in place. In the midst of high tides, storms and rocky movement, the anchor holds firm. Hope should be our anchor. Hope holds us firmly in place through all the storms Satan throws our way. No matter how "anchored" you are, the waters will eventually get rocky. The more you proclaim your hope found in Christ, the more unsettled Satan will make the waters of your life, but God is mightier than anything thrown your way.
"The Lord is my portion and my inheritance says my soul; ' therefore I have hope in Him and wait expectantly for Him.'" - Lamentations 3:24
If you are anchored in the hope of Christ, there is no trial stronger than God. You will not be moved. He does not let go, He is the one who will supply all the help you need as you rest in Him. This doesn't mean the boat won't tip and take on a little water from time to time, but it also doesn't mean that Jesus won't calm the seas where you are. He's done it before, He can do it again, because His trustworthiness is not dependent on the situation. Have hope that your God will see you through whatever type of "sea" you're in right now. Cast your anchor deep into the love and care of our Lord. He is where our hope comes from, and hope is healing. Hope is a light in the darkness. Hope reminds you why you started the fight and motivates you to finish it.
