“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.” - Matthew 11:28-30
Yoking yourself with Jesus brings connection, direction, and cooperation. It's hard to carry it all by yourself, it's exhausting, so share your load.
My preacher once said, "giving God the rest of your life equals a life of rest."
When we deny yourselves and turn to God, we have nothing to fear. Knowing you are already loved, accepted, and saved allows us to rest. It's easy to get caught up in the day to day. It's hard to believe that God cares about every little thing that is worrying us, but He does. 1 Peter 5:7 says, "Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you. " Not just some of your anxiety, but all of it. He wants you to be able to rest. He desires the best for you. Following Jesus should not be laborious or challenging, it should bring you peace.
If you find yourself feeling exhausted of everything around you, chances are those things causing your exhaustion, are not of God. Walk with Christ ; don't forget to spiritually rest by yoking yourself with Him. This will bring you rest for today, rest from the past because of forgiveness, and rest for eternity.
"Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. " - Philippians 4:6-7
